Never-Never Land by ~SaCliliad:iconSaCliliad:

Lost inside our endless time
we’re walking through the suburbs
And we’re talking about life.
Just stalling,
finding hair-ties to wrap up the silence
And start a perfect conversation.

We’ve discovered our secret garden now,
Where oranges are bitter but fun to eat
And rusty clothes lines scratch their stillness into the air
While we stop and stare and sit and think
About the bitter-sweet we’re eating
And the fact that miss-treating the rules
Is obeying our own ways of living this life.

You’ll climb through the windows to unlock our minds
These thoughts laying latent within that limiting wire
And inside these brand new tainted walls…
As we open the creaky door,
We’re just beginning to discover our imagination.

Colours stain our sweet-talk
We don’t need the sun for light to pour throughout this room.
Our fingers are our brushes
And we’ll write romance on the walls.
We are the children of forever
painting our way into Never-Never-Land...

And our hands will find each other
Searching through the broken walls
Through the holes that act like jagged windows
And my hands will grasp at the air on the other side
Just to find the sticky paint attached to your skin
And tucked in under your nails
Dormant for now as we dream of getting through to the other side of the wall
without a doorway to contain us.

Quotes are scattered here and there
And our thoughts are hung up in bliss in the air
Floating in our reach if we dare to investigate.
As strange as this feeling may be
you’ve got to admit;
We’re the luckiest two people alive to have fallen in love this way,
Stuck here in heaven like this.

I just want to discover magic with you.
Let’s tomb raid this paradise until we’re young again.
Let’s fade into the walls until we become the essence of this place
While the house grows its own two mortal feet
and walks away to replace our very faces...

I want to spin around on every oval that we raid
Screaming into the sky,
While my thoughts join in with their comments of
“I don’t mind if I never find out why!”
Because you’re here with me
And everything’s okay.
Yes, everything’s going to be just fine.
So please rewind me to that moment
Where we walked our way to the very last place we wanted to be
Talking about this crazy society
Falling in love with trinkets like bottle-caps
Remembering that they’re just stuck in the mud to the world
...But they’re worthless pieces of beautiful metal to you and me. =)

Give me another two dollars.
So I can buy us all of the two dollar notebooks that the two dollar store has got to offer.
So I can keep you stuck to those pages
Stuck here in August
Stuck here at 3 minutes before 5.
I’d give anything to let you know what you mean to me right now.
I’ll even let this poem go to waste
Just to look upon your painted hands
And your gorgeous hair
And your perfect face…
…and tell you how much I truly love you.

We’re stuck here in Never-Never-Land.
And as old and frail as we might grow together,
I never-never want to leave this world
if it means staying here with you
In the memory of a youthful day
Stuck here in our perfect minds
Stuck in forever and ever land…

(l) I've read this once already... but somehow it still brings me close to tears.
I love you Sarah :) I look forward to growing old with you :P
I really need some non cliche line to say something along the lines of "Best friends for life"... I'm not sure what though...

Come here
To our garden
There is a black shirt on the ground
I will climb through the window
I will open the door
And I will open my arms

Come here to this room
Where we shall speak our mind
And leave our words like footprints
On the wooden walls
Above the holes

Come here with me
Where lives are painted
Where hands are painted
And children
Leave tomorrow on the walls
Leave forever on the walls

Now let us write above this crack
Where hands had met just before
For all who enter let them know
That they finally have their answer

"Here's a test to find out if your misson on earth is complete
If your alive, It isn't"

Let our feet take us home
But hold our high heads low
So we don't miss the beautiful junk
That decorates the ground

Now step with me
Into this life
And remember
That though we dream
And our world makes no sense
We are yet to sleep

It's not always about the content. It's about the concept.

 Hahaha! =P Just kidding.

Thank you! You are awesome, and the poem above your comment is by Grant himself, the inspiration for my poem in the first place. =P :D

Glad you like it! Glad you got goosebumps. Glad that 'wow' doesn't cover it, but still glad it's the only thing you can think of. ;)

Yes we are. Remember not to mistake it for anything other than platonic love. Platonic love is all it is.
